DTN COMMENTS: The country is fairly quiet this morning with just a few bids
renewed in Texas, following yesterday's mostly moderate trade. Best early
guesses are that around 25,000-30,000 head at 194.00-196.00, mostly 196.00,
$2.00-4.00 lower than the previous week. Some sales were noted as low at
192.00 marked for shipment in late May. Kansas moved around 11,000 head,
$3.00 lower at 124.00. Texas trade was also at 124.00, $3.00 lower with
around 3,000 head moved. Asking prices on cattle left on showlists are
around 127.00 in the South, and 198.00 plus in the North. Beef cutouts are
expected to be lower with light to moderate box movement.
